Who is BOOST® Kid Essentials™ for? 

BOOST® Kid Essentials™ is a nutritionally balanced drink designed for children. It contains high quality protein with a vitamin, mineral and nutrient blend to help kids grow. It’s made without artificial flavors, colors or sweeteners with a kid-approved taste.  BOOST® Kid Essentials™ is not intended for infants under the age of 1 year old.
 

Can I use BOOST® Kid Essentials™ for tube feeding?

BOOST® Kid Essentials™ formulas can be delivered through a feeding tube.
Follow your physician’s instructions, administer at room temperature. Shake well. Pour directly into tube feeding container. Follow clean handling techniques to help avoid contamination during preparation and use. 

Can BOOST® Kid Essentials™ products be used as a sole source of nutrition?

BOOST® Kid Essentials™ 1.0, 1.5 and 1.5 with Fiber balanced nutritional drinks are designed for children and can be delivered through a feeding tube or consumed orally to provide supplemental nutrition. Contact your healthcare provider to identify the most appropriate formula if your child requires sole source nutrition through a feeding tube.

BOOST® Kid Essentials™ drinks are not intended for infants under the age of 1 year old.
 

What is the recommended amount of BOOST® Kid Essentials™ to use in a day?

It is recommended to talk with your child’s healthcare provider to identify the amount of BOOST® Kid Essentials™ drinks to meet his/her daily nutritional needs. It is important to include other food or beverages consumed in your child’s diet to determine how many servings of BOOST® Kid Essentials™ drinks to consume each day.

Is BOOST® Kid Essentials™ Drink appropriate for children with diabetes?

According to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the American Diabetes Association, individuals with diabetes may consume some sugar, and primarily need to assess their total carbohydrate intake at each meal.

BOOST® Kid Essentials™ 1.0 contains 9 grams of sugar and 32 grams of carbohydrate per 8 fl oz serving. 
BOOST® Kid Essentials™ 1.5 contains 9 grams of sugar and 39 grams of carbohydrate per 8 fl oz serving. 
BOOST® Kid Essentials™ 1.5 with Fiber contains 9 grams of sugar and 39 grams of carbohydrate per 8 fl oz serving.

Does BOOST® Kid Essentials™ provide immune support?

BOOST® Kid Essentials™ contains vitamins C, D & E and antioxidants, key nutrients for immune support. Overall, it is important to follow a balanced diet including adequate protein, fat and carbohydrates in addition to vitamins, minerals and fluid. 

What is BOOST® Kid Essentials™ made of?

Is there sugar or high fructose corn syrup in BOOST® Kid Essentials™ drinks?

BOOST® Kid Essentials™ drinks do not contain high-fructose corn syrup. BOOST® Kid Essentials™ drinks contain 9g of added sugars per 8 fl oz serving.

 

Are BOOST® Kid Essentials™ drinks gluten-free?

Yes, all BOOST® Kid Essentials™ drinks are gluten-free.

 

Are BOOST® Kid Essentials™ drinks certified Kosher?

Yes, all BOOST® Kid Essentials™ drinks are certified Kosher.

 

Do BOOST® Kid Essentials™ drinks contain peanuts or tree nuts?

BOOST® Kid Essentials™ drinks do not contain peanuts or tree nuts and there are no peanuts or tree nuts in the manufacturing facilities where BOOST® Kid Essentials™ drinks are manufactured.

 

Are BOOST® Kid Essentials™ drinks lactose-free?

BOOST® Kids Essentials™ drinks are suitable for lactose intolerance (but not for individuals with galactosemia).

Which BOOST® Kid Essentials™ product is right for my child?

What is the difference between BOOST® Kid Essentials™ 1.0 and BOOST® Kid Essentials™ 1.5?  

BOOST® Kid Essentials™ 1.5 balanced nutritional drink provides nutrition for children with simply 11 ingredients and a vitamin, mineral and nutrient blend. Specially formulated to provide more calories in the same 8 fl oz serving compared to BOOST® Kid Essentials™ 1.0.  (360 calories vs. 240 calories per 8 fl oz serving) and more protein (10 grams of protein vs. 7 grams of protein per 8 fl oz serving).  A higher caloric density may be helpful for children with volume intolerance. 

BOOST® Kid Essentials™ 1.5 balanced nutritional drink contains 27 vitamins and minerals, 10 grams of high-quality protein and CalciLock® blend of essential nutrients including Calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, zinc, and vitamins D, C & K to support bone health.  

 

What is the difference between BOOST® Kid Essentials™ 1.5 and BOOST® Kid Essentials™ 1.5 with Fiber? 

BOOST® Kid Essentials™ 1.5 with Fiber balanced nutritional drink contains 2 g of fiber per 8 fl oz serving to help support digestive health and normal bowel function.
 

How should BOOST® Kid Essentials™ be served and stored?

Directions For Use

May be stored unopened at room temperature. Do not freeze. Shake well before use as settling may occur. Once opened, unused portion should be tightly covered, refrigerated, and used within 24 hours.

 

Tube Feeding

For optimal results, administer at room temperature. Shake well. Pour directly into tube feeding container. Follow clean handling techniques to help avoid contamination during preparation and use. Adjust flow rate to patient’s condition and tolerance. Provide additional water to meet fluid requirements.

 

Can BOOST® Kid Essentials™ drinks be heated before serving?

It is not recommended to heat the formula before serving.  Serve chilled or at room temperature. 

 

Can I freeze BOOST® Kid Essentials™ drinks?

It is not recommended to freeze BOOST® Kid Essentials™ drinks. 
 

Is BOOST® Kid Essentials™ available through the WIC* program?

Yes, BOOST® Kid Essentials™ balanced nutritional drinks are WIC* eligible in most states. Ask your healthcare provider or local WIC representative if your child can benefit from the nutrition in BOOST® Kid Essentials™.
